Gulhane Park, an outer garden with grove and rose gardens inside the Topkapi Palace during the Ottoman Empire, was organized in the time of Cemil Pasa (Topuzlu) and turned into a park in 1912 and opened to the public.
Gulhane Park History
Gulhane Park was an exterior garden of the Topkapi Palace in the Ottoman Empire with grove and rose gardens. The first movement of the Tanzimat Edict which was accepted as the first step of democracy in our history, Islahat Edict was read on November 3, 1839 by Abdulmecit Minister Mustafa Resit Pasha. Cemil Pasha (Topuzlu) was organized in time and turned into a park in 1912 and went public.
During the Republican era, Gulhane Park gained a special importance as the place where Atatürk set foot in the Istanbul district after the Independence War. To commemorate this, the first statue of Atatürk was erected here in 1927. Atatürk showed his latin letters to the public for the first time in this park on 1 September 1928. While Ataturk’s body was sent to Ankara, the last ceremony in Istanbul was held on 19 November 1938 in the Sarayburnu section of Gulhane Park.

1- Istanbul Archaeological Museum

2- Islamic Science and Technology Museum

3- Museum of Ancient Oriental Art
The building, which was built in 1883, was turned into a museum between 1917-1919 by the Archaeological Museum Director Halil Edhem Bey to exhibit the works of the Near Eastern countries. You can see 74 thousand cuneiform tablets in the museum where there are artifacts belonging to pre-Greek, Egyptian and Arabian peninsula of Anatolia and Mesopotamia. The first love letter and BC. 4- Ahmet Hamdi Tanpinar Library

Tiled Kiosk Museum: Originally used as a summer residence by Fatih Sultan Mehmet, the mansion is known as the Sirca Kiosk, but it is now known as the Tiled Kiosk because of its tiles and ceramics. The Tiled Kiosk, located right across from the Archaeological Museum, offers you the opportunity to see all the talents of tiling in these lands, as well as to see nearly 2,000 pieces of archaeological excavations.
